Project
A Chilean earth observation platform
This new generation of Earth observation information systems provides access to decades of data for the first time. Using them as an aid to understanding our planet and making decisions is the next big challenge. The first step is to offer flexible and robust systems designed to change the way government, industry and researchers make decisions.
Previous situation
Individuals invest in the entire value chain, wasting significant time in repetitive data preparation processes.
Situation with Data Cube
The platform that provides the data and analysis tools is shared. Individuals can focus on tool and product development.
Information flow
Data sources
Data preprocessing and storage
Products
Visualization, dashboard and code
Product complexity
Data products vary in two directions:
Data sources
Complexity in some satellite data sources with various data bands or formats
Processing
Complexity in the products due to the processing required to produce them, such as local calibrations.
Data Cube Chile will deliver a “ready to go” product base to satisfy the requirements of many users quickly.
Currently Data Cube Chile already has a wide range of data sources, including data from Landsat, Sentinel 2 and Sentinel 3 satellites, among others.
